Below is quite an in-depth and helpful list to assist you in the use of the website operation and functionality. If, for whatever reason, you are still unsure about a particular feature or need some assistance then please do not hesitate to get in touch with your query by using the ‘Contact Us’ form.
Missingyoudearly.com gives you the facility to perform advanced searches on the memorial database. To perform a search, please enter as much or as little information that you have in the ‘Search by’ form and then click on the ‘Search’ button. Any matching profiles will then be displayed as a list of summary profiles which you can then click on to view the complete full profile. For example you could search for only females with the surname of Smith who were born between 1928 and 1935, or you could search for a male who was buried in 1984 known as ‘Tinker’ if you don’t know their real first name etc. As you can see the search facility is extremely powerful, but please note that filling in too many search boxes or being too specific in date ranges or search text may result in little or no search results being shown. To view all the memorial profiles simply click on the ‘Search’ button without entering any search data. Back to top
To view the full memorial profile after a search result simply click on either the profile name, the displayed picture (if any) or the ‘View Memorial Profile’ link at the bottom of each summary profile. To view the ‘fully featured example memorial profile’ please click on that link on the right hand side of the home screen or the ‘Sample Memorial’ menu selection button on the left hand side of the Home page. To turn the sound on or off when either viewing a profile or playing an audio or video clip simply click on either the ‘Play’, ‘Stop’ or ‘Pause’ buttons on the right hand side in the ‘Sound Player’ window. Back to top
At the top of the profile page click on the ‘Photo Album’ button which will open the photo album page. You will see the available photos to view, along with an enlarged picture of the first photo in the list. Above this larger photo you have three icon buttons being ‘Previous slide’, ‘Start / Stop Slideshow’ and ‘Next Slide’. Back to top

If you have a photo that you think may be of interest to the person who created the memorial profile, for possible inclusion on the profile, then you can click on the ‘Request to Submit a Photo’ button which will show the PROFILE CREATOR REQUEST FORM. Enter your details and click on ‘Submit’. The profile creator will then contact you shortly via email if they are interested in your photo. Back to top
At the top of the profile page click on the ‘Video Clips’ button which will open the video clips page. You will see the available video clips to view with their title and date of uploading. To view a particular clip just click on the ‘Play Video Clip’ link and the video player window will then open and start playing. Back to top

If you wish to leave a tribute message on a memorial profile, simply click on the ‘Submit Your Tribute Message’ button. This will open up the Tribute Messages Form where you can leave your message and select a candle, flower or card to display too. By default, all tribute messages require approval by the profile creator before they are visible on the memorial profile. Back to top
At the top of the profile page click on the ‘Memories / Stories’ button which will then open the memories / stories page. You will see the available memories or stories to view with who submitted it, the title and the date of submission. To view, just click on the title link. Back to top

If you wish to submit a memory or story to the memorial profile creator, simply click on the ‘Submit Your Memory / Story’ button. If you wish to submit a poem to the memorial profile creator, simply click on the ‘Submit Your Poem’ button. This will open up the Poems Form where you can leave your poem title, poem text and also upload an image to display too. Click on ‘Submit’ to save your data. Subscribe / Unsubscribe to a Memorial Profile Mailing List
You can subscribe or unsubscribe to the mailing list of a particular memorial profile to receive updates and general messages from the profile creator. From the memorial profile page click on ‘Subscription’ and then select either Subscribe or Unsubscribe and then click on ‘Submit’. Please note that you must be a registered and activated member of the website to be able to use this function. Back to top
Contact the Memorial Profile Creator
If you wish to contact the creator of a particular memorial profile for whatever reason, then please click on the ‘Contact Creator’ button. This will open the Contact Profile Creator Form which allows you to enter a subject matter and your message. After clicking on the ‘Submit’ button, an email will be sent to the profile creator with your details. Please note that you must be a registered and activated member of the website to be able to use this function. If you do not get a reply within a reasonable amount of time it may be possible that the profile creator has changed their email address etc, so please contact us using the ‘Contact Us’ form with all the details and we will investigate further. From the Home page click on the ‘Click here to register’ link on the ‘Member Login’ form on the right hand side of the screen. You must then enter all of your details, read and accept the ‘terms and conditions’ and then click on ’Submit’. You will then be sent an email with an activation link which you must click on to verify and fully activate your account. From the USER MENU click on the ‘Edit Personal Profile’ menu button which will show the EDIT PROFILE screen. You can then edit the information that you submitted when you registered. The USERNAME cannot be changed. Please remember to click on ‘Submit’ to save any changes. Back to top
From the USER MENU click on the ‘Create Memorial Profile’ menu button which will show the MEMORIAL PROFILE screen. Enter all the data on this form and then click on ‘Submit’. You can always go back and change any data at any time. For the ‘URL Profile Name’ please enter the person’s full name, such as ‘John Smith’ or Lisa Victoria Jones’. You can upload an audio clip as a ‘Sound Theme’ which will be played when the memorial profile is viewed. You must select a ‘Background Theme’ image from the drop down list to be displayed when the memorial profile is viewed. The following background themes are available:-
Baby Boy, Baby Girl, Cookery, Crystal, Gardener, Golden Love, Handyman, Heavenly Clouds, Music, Peace, Rose, Sporty, Sunrise and Young Diva.You can also upload a ‘Photo’ image which will be shown in the search results and on the main memorial profile viewing page. There is also a facility for you to upload a ‘Family Tree’ image, which you could for example create in Microsoft ® Paint and save as a .jpg image before uploading it to the memorial profile. After clicking on the ‘Submit’ button the profile will have been created and saved. You can then at any time view and edit your ‘Memorial Profiles’. Back to top
View and Edit created Memorial Profiles
From the USER MENU click on the ‘Memorial Profiles’ menu button which will show the LIST OF MEMORIAL PROFILES screen. You will see a list of the memorial profiles that you have created with five commands to the left that you can click on, these being ‘Edit’, ‘Delete’, ‘Hidden’ or ‘Visible’, ‘Password Protect’ and ‘Payment’. Clicking on the ‘Edit’ icon you can fully edit the memorial profile and add video / audio clips, photos, manage the profile mailing list etc. Please see further down the page for more information. Back to top
Delete Memorial Profile Command
Clicking on the ‘Delete’ icon will completely delete the memorial profile from our records. You are given a ‘Are you sure you want to delete this item?’ last chance pop up window to click on either ‘Ok’ or ‘Cancel’. Please note that all uploaded files and text for the deleted profile will be removed from the server and no refund of the activation fee will be given. Back to top
Make the Memorial Profile Hidden or Visible
Clicking on the ‘Hidden’ or ‘Visible’ icon will toggle between the two with green being visible and red being hidden. Please note that all profiles are hidden by default, even not visible to the memorial profile creator, unless the green ‘Visible’ icon is showing. Back to top
Password Protect the Memorial Profile
Clicking on the ‘Password Protect’ icon will enable you to set / clear a password for the memorial profile. If set, any user will be prompted to enter a password before the memorial profile can be viewed. This feature is for memorial profiles that you do not wish to be freely viewed requiring you to distribute the password to friends and family. Please note that this password is not the same password as you use to Login as a User and it can be changed or cleared at anytime. Back to top
Make a Memorial Profile Activation Payment
Clicking on the ‘Payment’ icon will show the ‘PAYMENT FOR MEMORIAL PROFILE’ page. The icon is red if not paid and green if paid. A payment of an ‘Activation Fee’ is required to make the memorial profile visible to other people who search and view memorial profiles on the website. Once paid for and approved by the Missingyoudearly Admin team, your memorial profile will be visible to all and will be hosted on our website indefinitely FREE of CHARGE, nothing else to pay ever. If you have a ‘promotional code’ please enter it correctly in the ‘Promo Code’ box and click on ‘Apply Promo Code’ before continuing. Carefully enter all of your ‘Billing Details’ then click on ‘Proceed’ which takes you to our secure WorldPay payment page. Back to top
When you click on the ‘Edit’ icon, you will be shown the Memorial Profile edit page which is similar to when you first created the profile. At the top there are eight additional button being ‘Life History’, ‘Photo Album’, ‘Video Clips’, ‘Audio Clips’, ‘Tribute Messages’, ‘Memories / Stories’, ‘Poems’ and finally ‘Mailing List’. You can add numerous ‘dated’ events in their life by clicking ‘Add Date Range’ on the LIFE HISTORY page, you will then be prompted to enter a ‘Date Range’ such as ‘1962 – 1980’ or just a year ‘1996’. There is a text area for the description of the ‘Life History’ for you to enter your details, such as ‘Started new job’ or ‘Got married to Sue’ etc. For each ‘Date Range’ entered you can also upload an image to be displayed. You also have command icons such as ‘Edit’, ‘Delete’, ‘Hidden’ or ‘Visible’ and ‘Move Up’ and ‘Move Down’ to change the vertical listing position when viewed. Please note that all newly created life history date ranges are hidden by default. Back to top

By clicking on the ‘Mailing List’ you can send an email to everyone who has subscribed to updates on the memorial profile. Typical uses would be to let everyone know that the profile has been updated, a new photo has been uploaded or general family / friends news. From the MAILING LIST page you can ‘Add new Subscriber’ by entering their name, email address and clicking on ‘Submit. You can also delete any subscriber by clicking the red delete cross to the left of the subscriber name. Back to top
From the USER MENU click on the ‘Close Account’ menu button which will show the CLOSE MEMBERS ACCOUNT screen. Read the message on the screen carefully before clicking on ‘Yes’ to close your account or ‘No’ to continue using your account. Note that if you close your account all your data will be permanently removed from the system and all uploaded files and all created profiles will be removed from the server and no refund of the activation fee will be given.
